Sustainable Ventures is offering a $10,000 prize for the study that best measures the true costs of a loaf of bread. The winning study will provide a framework to measure the social, environmental and financial performance and be adapted to other product areas. “By revealing the hidden costs of a loaf of bread …the selected framework with provide a metrics to help people make more informed choices to protect and restore the world,” according to the plan’s architect Theodosia Ferguson.
“We want to engage people in the conversation of what constitutes living sustainably? The competition offers people the opportunity to shift the dialogue towards a sustainable future.”
