Capital
Campaign Continues to Grow—Online Giving Now Available!
We are pleased to report that our new strategic plan continues to move forward with the successful launch of a major Capital Campaign. This fundraising initiative will help establish the revenue base and structure needed to advance SRI in the decades ahead! We have an ambitious vision for the Forum and the industry, including the development of an institutional investor program and new research initiatives.
If you have not yet contributed, you can do so online with a credit card at:
www.socialinvest.org/capitalcampaign
We have received financial commitments of over $280,000 toward our goal of $400,000 to take the Forum and the SRI industry to the next level of development!
We are very excited to announce support for the Capital Campaign
from a growing list of the original founders of the Social Investment
Forum and SRI industry. Our Founders’ Circle is led by those
who are inviting other “SRI veterans” to lend their
support to this next era of our work including: Joan Bavaria,
Joan Shapiro, Wayne Silby, and
Tim Smith.
The Capital Campaign is part of a three-pronged initiative to build
the base of financial support for the following needs: 1) outreach
to the board and membership, 2) outreach to foundations, and 3)
outreach by the CEO we are planning to hire, who will be responsible
for mobilizing significant new resources.

Running for a Seat on the Forum's Board
ave you considered running for a seat on the Forum’s Board of Directors? We are now accepting nominees to run for the board, for seats beginning in January 2007. The election will take place via mail and in person at our Annual Member Meeting held at the SRI in the Rockies Conference, October 29, 2006, at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO.
We welcome both self-nominations and nominations of others. We seek a diverse board, excited by and committed to the work of the Forum.
Four directors will be elected, one director in each Forum membership class: Client-oriented, Community-oriented, Research/Education and Institutional/Individual Investor. As part of our strategic new direction we will soon be updating our membership categories with the approval of the membership for this bylaws change. We expect this to be the last election before new categories are developed that better reflect the breadth of the industry.
Forum directors serve for three years. Candidates must be willing to attend board meetings three times a year and pay for their own travel and accommodations for meetings. Board meetings are held around the country. Board members are also expected to participate in regular conference calls, committee work, ad hoc projects, and engage in significant fundraising responsibilities.
Nominations are due June 12, 2006. If you
would like to nominate a candidate, please send your nomination(s)
in writing to:

Newly Appointed Board Members
The Social Investment Forum is very pleased to announce the recent
appointment of two new board members: Joanne Dowdell of Citizens
Funds
and Amy Muska O'Brien of TIAA-CREF
.
We faced two openings on the board when Rebbeca Adamson, First Nations
Development Institute
,
and Amy Perry, Green Century Funds
,
resigned at the close of last year. Vacant seats are filled by board
appointment.
Joanne Dowdell directs the corporate, social, and environmental
research, as well as strategy development and implementation of
the shareholder activism initiatives at Citizens Funds. She will
serve a two-year term for the board.
Amy Muska O’Brien, Director of Social Investing at TIAA-CREF,
works on a wide range of social and community investing initiatives
across TIAA-CREF. Among her responsibilities are overseeing the
social screening of such funds as the CREF Social Choice Account,
acting as liaison to stakeholders in connection with the company’s
social- and community-focused investments, and providing leadership
to the company on SRI issues. She will serve a three-year board
term for the Forum.
We are delighted with the energy and ideas that these two new directors
bring at this exciting time in the Forum's history!
Friendly Reminder: New Membership Dues in Effect
If you have a Social Investment Forum membership renewal invoice
on your desk, now is the time to renew your membership! We have
a new membership dues structure in effect to help us keep pace with
the growing demands on our programs. This year members are also
able to earmark up to 30 percent of your dues for specific programs,
so be sure to identify the programs you most want to support in
2006!
If you have any questions about your dues level, please contact
