generosity of our members, we now have gifts and pledges totaling
$336,825! Please see the list of donors to your right—and
add yourself (or your firm/organization) to the list, if you are
not already acknowledged, by making a contribution today!
You can make a gift online at www.socialinvest.org/capitalcampaign
or by sending a check to the Social Investment Forum, Capital Campaign,
1612 K St., NW, Suite 650, Washington, DC 20006.
We greatly thank our generous members for their commitment to SRI,
to the Forum, and to our shared mission. The Capital Campaign is
helping the Forum move to the next level of development through
the hire of our first CEO and it will lay the groundwork for expanding
our programs and benefits and for attracting new members. In the
years ahead we are planning to increase the clout and the reach
of the SRI industry through the further development of our messaging
and communications, expansion of our research, and by increasing
our role in public policy issues related to the SRI industry. We
appreciate our members’ partnership in bringing the Forum
to this new level of growth and opportunity.

Forum Hires First CEO—Lisa Woll
On August 15, 2006 the Forum announced with great enthusiasm the
hire of our first CEO, Ms. Lisa Woll.
Lisa Woll most recently served as executive director of the International
Women’s Media Foundation. She was also director of government
relations and public affairs for the National Association of Service
and Conservation Corps, director of Save the Children (Washington
Operations), and director and author of the Convention on the Rights
of the Child Impact Study. She founded Suited for Change, and served
in the Congressional office of former Congressman Lee Hamilton of
Indiana
.
Her strengths include helping guide organizations in transition
in order to enhance their overall impact, create more effective
internal structures, and better define missions and visions. She
has published articles and a book, been a public speaker and worked
extensively with members of the news media.
Woll earned a BA in political science from the University of Illinois,
Urbana, an MA in public policy and women’s studies from George
Washington University and was a Fulbright Fellow at Deakin University
in Australia.
The SIF Board and Search Committee unanimously chose Ms Woll because
she brought, by far, the best blend of experiences in association
management, transition management, advocacy and investment expertise
at an executive level. She has personal and retail investment experience
and a history of investing in an SRI manner through funds and individual
securities.
Special thanks to the Search Committee: Reggie Stanley
,
chair; Frank Coleman, Christian Brothers Investment Services
;
Greg Garvan, Money with a Mission/FAFN
;
Elizabeth Glenshaw, Calvert Foundation
;
Tom Kuh, KLD Research & Analytics
;
Amy Muska O’Brien, TIAA-CREF
;
Cheryl Smith, Trillium Asset Management Corporation
.
