Paul Dolan, past COO of Fetzer Vineyards, described the journey toward sustainability for his $200 million company. The company integrated the "triple bottom line" approach into their business planning and fostered a new culture both within the company and in the wine industry.

Dominique Nils Conseil, President of AVEDA, presented a case for how environmental and economic goals are not mutually exclusive. At AVEDA, a sustainability agenda has become the engine instead of a brake and is leadership's best opportunity to unleash creativity, generate innovations, create product differential, and achieve greater consumer and shareholder value. According to Conseil, "a better run company is one that pursues transparency, refuses to sacrifice long-term goals for short-term gains, and factors in all its stakeholders."

Laurie Demeritt, COO of The Hartman Group, summarized their research on the "new consumer" market that is buying socially and environmental responsible products. Speaking to this market requires businesses to adjust their marketing and messaging to address emerging new consumer.
