The Magazine PAPER Project helps publishers make the best environmental, social, and financial decisions for their magazine production that can also have a market benefit. We’ve helped both huge circulation magazines and small magazines switch to recycled and FSC-certified paper, and, have provided guidance for publishers as they develop effective policies that guide their procurement and production practices.
We help to promote magazines that have already switched to environmentally responsible papers through our bookstore promotions, Webinars, and Web-listing.
For Publishers
Switching to recycled paper is the most effective way for magazine publishers to make a meaningful difference in reducing the harmful environmental impacts of the paper and production industry.
For Consumers
As a magazine consumer, individuals are an important part of helping magazines to switch to recycled paper which will protect forests and thereby maintain a critical means of sequestering carbon from the atmosphere. Ask your local bookstores to participate in our promotions that highlight magazines using recycled paper; when given a choice, purchase magazines that are using recycled paper; and, thank those magazines that are making the effort to produce their publication in an environmental manner.
- WoodWise™ Consumer Program involves consumers by educating them about sustainable forest practices with our WoodWise™ Consumer Guide, and encouraging them to urge magazine publishers to make paper and production decisions that are financially, socially, and environmentally responsible.
- Responsible magazine list - Click here to find a list of magazines that have made a commitment to using environmentally responsible papers.
