We all do foolish things sometimes, but many of us are working hard to stop being Fossil Fools.
When we look around the country we see many signs of progress. People are making their homes more efficient, the green building business is taking off, solar and wind power are growing quickly and almost everyone is talking about how to address climate change.
Nevertheless, there are still foolish people out there who, in their roles as the heads of major corporations or as elected officials, continue to run our economy on outdated, dirty technology that can’t help us solve the climate crisis. These leaders should step up and take a true leadership role in promoting green energy for the future -- not be fossil fools of the past.
Co-op America, Energy Action Coalition, and Rainforest Action Network have nominated the CEOs of companies with fossilized portfolios like ExxonMobil and Dynegy. We invite you to:
- Enter the contest for a free year’s worth of carbon offsets from renewable energy projects.*
- Vote in the 2008 Foolies for the worst fossil fools; and
- Join us on April 1st for a global day of action and tell the fossil fuel industry and bad politicians to stop acting like a fossil fool and start promoting green, clean energy.
We will show the world that we refuse to fool around with climate change and our future.
Enter your email address to the right and you’ll be entered to be one of five winners of carbon offsets for your home. Then you’ll be taken to our Foolies ballot box, where you can vote for the worst fool. On April 1st the winner will be announced with a splash as the country’s worst Fossil Fools are presented with a special prize to commemorate their foolishness.
